We know that sitting in a cold clinic room is not going to help an 18 year old find her confidence. So we meet her at Burleigh in her gym gear, because what she actually wants, her words, is the hot girl walk every other girl her age is doing, and right now she does not have the confidence or the skills to get there. That is her goal, because it is her life. That is the session.

Two young women, both dreaming of yoga on the beach, neither able to access it on their own. So their OT is bringing their sessions together and calling it mindfulness and movement. On paper it is skill building and community access. On the sand it is two girls building a friendship.
Underneath the fun it is rigorous. ICF based, deeply functional, properly person centred. Goals are built on what actually matters in someone's real world, and sessions happen out in that world. The clinical spine is serious. The delivery just refuses to be beige.

Fortnightly one-on-one coaching, real clinical supervision, and a healthy kind of challenge: she will back you and stretch you, because the point is you growing into the best version of yourself, in work and in life. If you want leadership, we build you a leadership pathway. If you want clinical depth, we build you that instead. There are long-term plans here for every person on the team, because we are building this company from the ground up, together, and we intend for you to be part of what it becomes.

Half the appeal of this job is where it lives. Sun, salt water, and work that happens at the beach some days. If you are coming from New Zealand there is no visa to worry about, you can just come work here. And because the move is the real risk here, not the job, we make the landing structural: video calls with the team before you decide, honest answers about suburbs, rent and costs, a named buddy from day one, and your first fortnight mapped before you arrive. We cannot promise instant friendships. We can promise you will not figure any of it out alone. And we pay for your flights here. The move is the biggest risk you would be taking on us, so we carry a real piece of it.
This is still real clinical work.
There is documentation, there are NDIS realities, there are hard sessions and reports that have to be excellent. We hold a high bar and we give feedback. If you want somewhere to hide, this is not it. If you want somewhere to grow, we will back you fully. Two-way street.

What the work actually involves.
The role
- Assessments, goal setting and therapy for communication and swallowing needs across the lifespan
- Clinic, home, school, community and telehealth
- Clinical documentation to our standards, tied to the participant journey
- Collaboration with families, educators and your transdisciplinary teammates
- Option to co-lead group programs, or build your own
You will need
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Speech Pathology
- SPA membership or eligibility to join
- Professional indemnity and public liability insurance
- Driver's licence and access to a car
- The right to work in Australia (New Zealand citizens: you already have it)
